Symbolic Wedding Ceremony

 A symbolic wedding is a ceremony that is conducted with the complete set of wedding vows and testimonies between two people. The only difference is that this ceremony has no value legally for either spouse. No documents are required to be submitted to Public Office or will be registered with either the State Civil Authority or Religious Ministers. If a couple has already legalised their marriage civilly in their own country, they can therefore celebrate a symbolic ceremony here in Italy.

Another nice feature of a symbolic ceremony is that it can be officiated by anybody – from a close friend to a parent or relative.

For example: a foreign couple who have a civil ceremony in their own country can decide to have a symbolic ceremony on their vacation with friends. This includes same sex couples or those with different religious backgrounds. Symbolic wedding ceremonies are also very popular with couples who wish to renew their wedding vows.
